Hello everyone! Just a quick update on the music. The pace has
increased, we are scored up to the 31 minute mark, but in 2-3 days David
will have to switch over to a paying project for a little while. We
will keep you apprised of that. For now, the updated track for scene
000. Enjoy!
Othersight OST Track 1
Othersight is an independently made Christian film about four teenagers who have the ability to perceive life not as it seems but as it really is. We created this blog to let people in on the production of this movie and to be able to participate in it if they want to. We will have more frequent updates once filming starts, as well as contests, photos, behind the scenes footage, and more.

Stunts: The Basics
In
this project news lull I thought it would be beneficial to my fellow filmmakers
and the generally curious if we talked about the basics of stunt work. First
up: The Fall. Easily the most important part of stunt work, learning how to hit
the ground without injuring yourself. This is the technique that we used to
train our team, and it is also used in martial arts academies across the
country.
First off, stand with your feet fairly close together. |
Cross your arms over your chest. |
Tuck the chin. |
Bend |
and lower yourself straight down... |
...roll onto your back and break the fall by slapping out. Remember to keep your chin tucked; the inertia of the roll will try to make you crack your head on the ground. |
Note that you must make contact with the palms first,
not the elbows. Trust me, taking it on the elbows hurts.
As time goes on, you will be able to do it faster and less rigidly, but this will help your body remember the core principles
Well, there you have it. I hope that was instructive. Thanks for reading!
P.S. Now the standard disclaimer. The individual takes full responsibility for any injuries incurred... Brightsword Productions and the Othersight team will be held harmless... etc, etc. and so forth.

Keeping Track
Okay then, here’s what we’ve got: 2-3 more tracks have been
composed, with some surprising results. For instance, the music behind a
particularly dramatic scene actually played better with a lighter, almost
winsome tone. Our composer’s packed schedule has, unfortunately, created a bit
of a bottleneck in productivity on his end. Not that it alters the quality of
his work, just the speed. (Go David!) Meanwhile, back at the ranch… we have
been working on the credits sequence. It’s always interesting to see the
breakdown of jobs a year later and think, “Did we really do all that?” Ah,
memories. :)
